
A good turnout at Hammersmith Bridge on Saturday 24th January showing that people are now using and enjoying the bridge for clean, active travel, and have no desire for it to be re-opened to cars.

It's open to people walking, pushing buggies, using wheelchairs, riding bicycles, riding scooters.
But not to people driving cars.

It's been almost seven years since Hammersmith Bridge was closed to motor traffic.
Seven years of reduced traffic, not only on Hammersmith Bridge (obviously) but on the neighbouring bridges and in the surrounding area too. Seven years of reduced pollution and congestion.
Seven years that have shown there's no need for cars to be allowed to cross Hammersmith Bridge.
So let's celebrate our freedom from cars and say: keep Hammersmith Bridge car-free!
