DfT agrees to 'some funding' for Hammersmith Bridge permanent repairs

The Department for Transport (DfT) has agreed to fund permanent repairs to Hammersmith Bridge.

DfT permanent secretary Bernadette Kelly confirmed that the government had agreed to provide "some funding" for permanent repairs, during a Public Accounts Committee meeting held yesterday.  

However, Kelly stopped short of revealing how much of the £141M-£163M repair bill the government would be footing...

...Kelly said: “I don’t have the exact figure in front of me but we are now providing some funding to repair the bridge.
