From the Evening Standard:
Plans for a Hammersmith bridge ferry are set to be delayed after hundreds of residents raised concerns, the Standard can reveal. Hopes of partially reopening the Grade II* listed bridge to pedestrians and cyclists this summer are also slipping behind schedule.
MPs and London Assembly members fear the aim of starting ferry services across the Thames between Hammersmith and Barnes by the start of the new school term in September is likely to be dashed by the scale of the outcry.
Residents are pinning their hopes on engineers finding the bridge safe enough for a limited reopening — but a crucial report remains “pending” and unlikely to be considered by councillors for a month.
